Bar Lis

Wilcox Ave outside Bar Lis gets loud with traffic before you even reach the elevator bank. Hollywood blocks don't slow down just because you're hunting for a rooftop lounge. The bouncer checks IDs under harsh porch lights while cabs idle by the curb. You step past velvet ropes and wait for the lift that takes you up past the hotel lobby.

Upstairs, it's all jazz records spinning and people clutching expensive drinks by the patio edge. The crowd isn't here for mosh pits. They're dressed sharp because management enforces a strict dress code that rejects sneakers and shorts at the door. You won't find sticky floors or cheap draft beer here. Behind the counter, bartenders pour gin cocktails while bass lines thrum through velvet booths.

Out on the terrace, city lights stretch across the skyline while saxophones bleed into the night air. Drinks cost way too much, but you're paying for the view of the hills and the leather seating. It's a slick spot that doesn't pretend to be a gritty dive. Someone drops a glass near the bar and the ice clatters against the tile floor.
